About the Artist/FAQ

About the Artist:

John de Mars is a lifelong explorer of art, rooted in the creative soil of Seattle. His artistic journey is fueled by a passion to study the masters of yesteryear, skillfully weaving their techniques and concepts into the fabric of his own distinctive and powerful creations. As an entrepreneur with the heart of an athlete, de Mars approaches each canvas with the same vigor and determination that he does his pursuits outside the studio.
He is known for his versatility, with a repertoire that spans from the innovative PXLSM style—a unique fusion of digital pixelation and classical impressionism—to the fluid spontaneity of abstracts. Whether working on personal pieces that resonate with the vibrancy of life or collaborating with collectors to bring their visions to life, John's work is a dialogue between history and modernity. His art is not just seen; it is felt, a testament to his belief in the transformative power of art.

FAQ:

How do I commission a new piece?

John loves to work with collectors to create new works. Determine the size, subject matter, and style you want and send an inquiry for pricing to info@jdemars.com.

How are the paintings shipped?

Shipping art is an art in itself. All original pieces are carefully prepared with padding and protection, and shipped with tracking and insurance via FedEX, UPS, or USPS. The team at J. de Mars shops around for the best price and doesn't up-charge for this process.

What are the Return Policies?

At J. de Mars, we understand that purchasing original artwork is a significant investment, and we strive to ensure that you are thrilled with the pieces you select for your collection. Our return policy is designed to give you the confidence to choose art that truly resonates with you.

Return Window: You have a generous two-week (14 days) period from the date of delivery to decide whether the artwork you have received is right for you and your space. During this time, we encourage you to experience the artwork in your environment as you contemplate your purchase.

Condition for Returns: If you determine that the piece is not a perfect fit, you may initiate a return within the two-week window. To qualify for a return, the artwork must be in its original condition and packaging. If the original packaging is no longer available, you are responsible for packing the artwork securely using protective materials and a sturdy box to ensure the piece returns to us without damage.

Return Shipping: The buyer is responsible for the return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable and insured shipping method to safeguard the artwork during transit. Please note that the return shipping costs are non-refundable.

Process for Returns: To initiate a return, please contact our customer service team at info@jdemars.com with your order details. Our team will provide you with the necessary instructions and return address to facilitate the process.

Refunds: Once we receive the returned artwork and confirm that it is undamaged and in its original condition, we will process your refund promptly. The refund will be issued to the original method of payment, minus any original shipping costs, if applicable.

We are here to assist you with any concerns or questions you may have regarding your purchase or our return policy. Our goal is to ensure that your experience with J. de Mars is nothing short of exceptional.
